The Basque Foundation for Health Innovation and Research (B+I+O Euskal Fundazioa) was established by the Administration of the Basque Country, by resolution of the Governing Council on 16 July 2002, entered onto the public record on 13 September 2002 and the Basque Register of Foundations on 21 February 2003. B+I+O euskal fundazioa is composed of a group of people keen to work with others who, with a common interest in health innovation and research, share the objective of improving daily healthcare practice.
B+I+O euskal fundazioa aims to promote knowledge creation and a culture of ideas. To this end, it supports diverse, collaborative and high-risk research.
B+I+O euskal fundazioa seeks to be a meeting point between knowledge workers, in the belief that only networks favouring complex non-hierarchical relationships allow innovation to flourish.
B+I+O euskal fundazioa strives to be a transparent and permeable organisation, maintaining constant dialogue with stakeholders, with a view to, in the medium term, making health innovation and research the basis of excellence in healthcare within our system and our health service a leader in the organisation and management of health systems.
